A mirage is a condition in which distant objects appear to be distorted, displaced, or multiplied. The term "mirage" is often associated with unreality, as the object being seen is not actually there.

We use this concept to describe the illusion of depth, movement, or texture created through digital techniques, such as image manipulation.
