Unit4Art is a contemporary art gallery located in the heart of Gouda, showcasing over 30 artists. As part of our one-year anniversary, we’ve launched a curated shop offering affordable, art-inspired pieces for everyone. With items priced up to €75, we aim to make art accessible, allowing visitors to take home a piece of creativity that fits their style and budget.
We created a digital floor plan and a physical model. A key challenge was finding space for a cash register and storage, leading us to design a zigzag partition wall for both stability and visual appeal. The wall was built using reclaimed white slats from the gallery's previous use, combining sustainability and design. The slats were woven for extra stability, and after refining the structure, the final result was a functional, aesthetically pleasing addition to the space.
We built a flexible table collection using recycled materials and repurposed discarded chairs and tables for the legs. This approach not only reduced costs but also gave the tables a unique character. The tables feature a universal, puzzle-like design with rounded edges, making them easy to move and combine. We painted the tops white for a neutral look and the legs anthracite for visual balance.
